Heirloom Corn, Modern Vision: Bringing Authentic Masa to Raleigh's Table

Our story

At Mala Pata, we honor tradition through the ancient art of nixtamalization. Sourcing high-quality heirloom corn from Oaxaca, we craft fresh masa daily—the foundation of our vibrant Latin American cuisine. Our culinary collaboration brings together seasoned chefs and restaurateurs with a shared vision: creating a community hub where authentic flavors and genuine hospitality meet. Opening May 14, 2025 in Raleigh's Gateway Plaza.

A COLLECTIVE VISION

Angela Salamanca, Marshall Davis, Eric Montagne, and Zack Gragg—  combining decades of culinary excellence to create something truly unique.
